Well, the weekend is over but there’s still enough work to last awhile.
Brer Marc and the boys left early this afternoon for home, which will be a glad sight for them all after having been put through the paces the past few days. But oh, how much we accomplished.
Just to give you a glimpse of what I’m talking about, here are a couple quick shots.
First, Dad’s new deck addition under construction. Although you can’t see the whole thing here (it’s about 40 feet from the existing deck to the outside edge of the new phase), this should give an idea of what we’ve been up to. Hallelujah for Global Warming? There? How’s that Theresa? (I’ve decided to start using question marks for emphasis? I’m all about traffic? And look I’m literally watching my Alexa rating rise as we speak?)
Yep, folks, Global Warming has finally arrived here in Boardman Country, so I’ve shut off my ozone-piercing lawnmower at least for today? I’m warm enough for now, but just let our JUNuary daytime temperatures drop back below the prescribed 70 degrees and I’m out there cranking that thing up again. And I don’t care how high the gas prices go? BLLLess GYYod?
For those of you still getting to know me, let me say that singing is one of my absolute favorite pastimes.
I started early. I can still remember the first choir I sang with: The Children’s Choir at Steel Lake Presbyterian Church down in Federal Way. You should have seen us with our little white robes and great big bows! I hadn’t grown my beard yet.
At Steel Lake Elementary School we learned about notes and rhythm. I remember singing, “Oh Do You Know the Muffin Man” as a round.
Well, as it turns out, I’ve sung in choirs and ensembles and quartets and trios all my life and can’t say loudly enough: I LOVE IT! As Pastor Marty says, “There’s just something about singing with a group that gives you some perspective. You’re involved in something bigger than just yourself.”
Needless to say, when I hear music that gives me goosebumps or that makes me weep, I just have to share it with someone. Today that someone is you! You’re in for a treat here so get ready to give five minutes of your undivided attention to this video. You’ll be glad you did! Let ‘er rip!
