It Is Good That We Should Harmonize!
Author: Brad Boardman | Category: Boardman Views, Education, Faith, Family, General, MusicThis evening I ran a little experiment and had a musical get together at my house.
It ended up being three friends from church and my wife, Carrie.
For a long, long time I’ve been wanting to put together some old (from the 1950′s) Audrey Meier songs using a trio or a quartet and tonight seems to have been the beginning of fulfilling that little dream. We just sat out in the living room and I plunked through a bunch of Audrey’s chromatically-inclined tunes on the piano so they could all hear what I was talking about.
These old tunes drip with harmony, that very thing to which I am addicted!
During the course of the evening as we all chatted about some of our favorite hymns and gospel songs, I was reminded of this impromptu rendition of “It Is Well” done by The Ruppe Sisters. It’s not Audrey Meier but it is great harmony. Take a listen and see what you think.
Let ‘er rip.
In the day and age in which we live, isn’t it good to know the condition of our souls? If you don’t know your soul’s condition, you most certainly can. Read Romans 10:8-10 in the Bible.
Meanwhile, we had a tremendous time sorting through some fantastic music tonight and we’ll be working to bring it to performance some time soon. Stay tuned!
You’re in Boardman Country!
Make yourself at home,
Brad

Thanks Linda!
I’ll bet we probably agree on more than we think. After all, there are MANY more things in this life than politics and the environment!
