Boardman Country!

Where everyone’s entitled to MY opinion.

Greetings! It’s now 10:45 a.m.

Not “10:45 a.m. in the morning,” as some are wont to say, just plain old 10:45 a.m.

I hope you’re not one of those people. You know, one of those who say, for example, “It’s 10:45 a.m. in the morning.”

If you are, you’ve probably never stopped to consider the fact that when you say it (given the fact that “a.m.” is the abbreviation for “ante meridiem” which means “before noon” which implies “in the morning”) you’re really saying, “It’s 10:45 before noon in the morning” which to most of us who speak English sounds pretty silly.

Now, if you really think that such redundancy is necessary to emphasize the half of the day about which you’re talking, then let ‘er rip! I almost never need that kind of emphasis unless it’s right around 11:59 p.m. after noon between noon and midnight!

I’ll try harder to get on with my careers-to-date ramblings next time.

You’re in Boardman Country!

Make youself at home,

Brad
